The Brief 

Background of the Tudor House 

Tudor House Museum is run by the Worcester Heritage and Amenity Trust

(WHAT)as an independent museum in the centre of Worcester. Over 18,000 visitors a year enjoy Tudor House and the museum celebrates 15 years in 2019.

The team at Tudor House is made up of mostly volunteers with one full time member of staff and another part time education assistant role opening up in March. Since 2004, it has supported over 200 volunteers, some overcoming physical and intellectual disabilities to become part of the regular team.

As part of the regeneration plan the Trust have for the museum, we will be creating some new interpretation and information boards around the building, bringing the Tudor aspect of the building’s history to better focus.

This project also has the aim of streamlining the content we have on display and creating a house style that will be used throughout the building. It coincides with restoration work we are carrying out to the embossed ceiling, and research already being undertaken into the personal documents of

people who used to live in the building

Who is my client?

Tudor House Museum aims to promote the history and heritage of Worcester, specifically the influential 16^th Century broadcloth trade and the former occupants of the building. Worcester Heritage and Amenity Trust actively practices a “museums for all” approach by keeping admission free and costs to events low, encouraging a diverse audience.
